Technologies TrustLayer Inc. · Quebec, Canada

Financial intelligence in the service of inclusion.

We build TrustScore, an AI-powered alternative credit scoring engine that assesses SME creditworthiness from their real data — not their collateral. To give credit access to those who deserve it.

The challenge

Strong SMEs, wrongly deemed risky

It's not a solvency problem — it's a perception gap. Traditional credit methods exclude financially reliable entrepreneurs for lack of tools suited to their reality.

🏦

Unsuited criteria

Banks require a banking history and real-estate collateral that immigrant, diaspora or informal-economy SMEs simply don't have.

📉

Fragmented data

Mobile payments, tontines, informal savings: a wealth of real financial data, entirely ignored by classic scoring.

⚖️

Systemic bias

Lending processes reproduce biases that unfairly penalize certain populations, despite a genuinely low risk.

Our solution

TrustScore — the rating they deserve

An objective, transparent and fair credit score, computed from alternative data and explainable AI.

📱

Alternative data

Mobile payment transactions (MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Wave), billing history, payment behaviour, digital reputation — to score even without a formal bank account.

⚖️

Algorithmic fairness

Native bias detection and correction (IBM AIF360), regular fairness audits, compliance with Bill C-27 and OSFI requirements. Fair AI by design.

🔍

Full transparency

Every score is explained factor by factor (SHAP/XAI). Right to explanation for each SME and full traceability for financial institutions.

Technology & R&D

A scientifically validated AI engine

TrustScore v2.0 is built on a gradient boosting model trained on 10,000 records, with a secure cloud architecture hosted in Canada. An R&D project co-funded by NRC/IRAP and SR&ED tax credits.
